Adam and Michela in conversation

Bright child. Crumbling confidence.

It does not look the same at seven as it does at fifteen, and you are not imagining either one.

We help parents of 6 to 16 year olds rebuild their child’s confidence in learning. You do it at home, in your own words. We show you exactly how.

Free. Five minutes. Your child does not need to take part.

At

seven

it is tears over spellings and a page rubbed through until it tears.

At

eleven

it is a child who used to put their hand up and now hopes nobody looks at them.

At

thirteen

it is homework that was never mentioned and a door you knock on now instead of walking through.

At

fifteen

it is revision that never starts and “there is no point” said in a voice that has stopped arguing.

Four different pictures. The same thing underneath: a child who has decided that trying is the risky option.

We help parents of 6 to 16 year olds rebuild that. Not through tutoring. Not through more pressure. Through you, because you are the one constant in your child’s learning life.

Years 2 to 4

The homework that takes an hour and ends in tears.

Tummy aches on Monday mornings. “I’m on the wrong table.” A child who will not try in front of you, because trying and failing in front of you is the worst part of all.

Years 5 to 6

Comparison arrives.

They stop volunteering answers. “I’m rubbish at maths” stops being a complaint and becomes a fact they have accepted about themselves. Tests come home unmentioned, or not at all. Then secondary starts and flattens whatever was left.

Years 7 to 9

The drift.

Homework not done and not mentioned. “It’s boring.” A report that says capable but not applying himself. The phone becomes the room. Options picked to avoid a subject rather than because they wanted one. Quiet enough that everyone tells you it is just the age.

ages 14 to 16

Years 10 to 11

Revision that never starts.

Coursework left. “I’ll be fine” and “there’s no point” in the same week. Coasting on purpose, so a bad grade never means anything about them. Mocks that confirm a story they wrote about themselves two years ago.

Four ages, one pattern. That is why one method works across all of it.

What it looks like when it starts to come back

Confidence does not return all at once. It comes back in small, ordinary moments at your kitchen table. These are the ones the work is built towards.

Primary· Now

Homework starts at seven and ends in tears at eight.

What the work builds towards

It starts in a few minutes, and ends with “that wasn’t that bad.”

Primary· Now

“I can’t” before they have even read the question.

What the work builds towards

A real go at the first one, even when it is hard.

Secondary· Now

A shut door, and “it’s fine” when it is not.

What the work builds towards

“Can you help me with this bit?”

Secondary· Now

A revision timetable with only the first week filled in.

What the work builds towards

Twenty minutes, started without a row.

Every child is different and none of this happens overnight. These are the changes the method is designed to work towards, not promises about any particular child.

How it works

Three steps. Start free, and go as far as your family needs.

01

Start with the free Reflection

Five minutes, seventeen questions, nothing clinical, and your child does not take part. You come away with a name for the pattern you are seeing at home, and one thing to try tonight.

The Learning Confidence Parent Guide

The full method, the Confidence Loop: four steps, in a fixed order, that take a child from stuck to started, with words you can use if you want them. Written for a parent, not a teacher. Every Guide comes with thirty days inside Inside the Loop, our members’ community.

More of us, when you want it

Inside the Loop brings a fortnightly live session with Adam and Michela, and parents living the same week as you. From there: Talk It Through, a call with Jane that always ends in a written plan; a small Group Programme or a 1:1 Reset when you want to work with us closely; and workshops on single topics. All open to members, and membership starts with the Guide.

About Inside the Loop

We will never meet your child. That is on purpose.

A tutor gets one hour a week. You get the other hundred and sixty seven. Teachers change every September; you are there from the first reading book to the last exam. Confidence is rebuilt in small moments at the table, in the car and at bedtime, so we put the tools in the hands of the person who is there for them.

It works whether your child is at school, home educated, or somewhere in between, and your child does not need to know we exist.

Who you will be working with

Nearly thirty years between us, in schools, family homes and everywhere in between. Everything we teach is grounded in published research on how children learn and what builds real motivation.
